seventeen:thirteen

seventeen:thirteen is my doctoral dissertation from the Eastman School of Music. It is a composition for fifteen players to be performed outdoors in an urban environment for 30 minutes each day for 3 days. It employs coordinated movement and sound with audio and video recording, playback, and projection. The work employs different compositional styles for each of the three days, but all of the material is derived or informed by algorithms written in SuperCollider, a music programming language.
